Anti-wrinkle

How does it work?

Botulinum toxin blocks the pathways that lead to muscle movement, allowing the skin and wrinkles to relax as there is no longer constant tension on them from your facial muscles.

How long does it last?

Everyone is different, but in general, three to six months.

How long does it take to work?

Treatment does not work straight away, effects can be noticed around days 3-5, with full effects around weeks 2-4. Effects peak at around six weeks then movement slowly starts to return.

Will one treatment fix my lines/wrinkles?

Again everyone is different, this will depend on many factors, including age, skin condition, cause and how deep the wrinkles are. Often it will take more than one treatment. It usually takes regular treatments to maintain results.

Are the results permeant?

No, definitely not. Muscle movement gradually comes back over 3-6 months until back to normal.

Can I guarantee I will look frozen?

I can never guarantee this, but we can adjust your dose to try and achieve some movement vs as little as possible.

What aftercare do you offer?

I offer a free two-week review appointment, where if there is any asymmetry or it is clear additional treatment is needed, this will be included in the review free of charge.

What happens if I experience side effects?

Please contact me if you experience any side effects, particularly brow or eyelid drop, or spock brow. It is often advised to review this at two weeks, as that is when the treatment will have full effect. Often if there is a drop, its about waiting for the treatment to wear off, but occasionally there is something I can do to improve this.

Dermal fillers

How does it work?

Fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid gel, a substance found naturally in the skin that attracts water. As we age, we often lose volume, skin elasticity, and collagen. Fillers can help replace this and rejuvenate the skin/face. It can also be used to add volume and improve profile balancing.

How long does it last?

Everyone is different. It depends on which area of the face is being treated and which filler used. In general, it can last anywhere from 6 to 24 months, but there is a lot of evidence to suggest that filler can remain for many years after injection.

How long does it take to work?

Effects are noticed immediately, but it takes 2- 4 weeks for the filler to settle and incorporate into the tissue.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is used for some areas of the face such as the lips, which are a bit more sensitive. It is not needed for the rest of the face and shouldn't be too uncomfortable. The brands I use all contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to make the treatment more comfortable.

Is it safe?

With any injectable treatment there are risks. I will discuss all risks with you during your consultation. Side effects can include, but are not limited to: redness, swelling, bruising, itching, tenderness. Choosing a practitioner with the right qualifications with help minimise the risks.

Am I suitable for treatment?

There are some medical conditions and medications which can affect your suitability for treatment. This is why I conduct a full medical consultation to discuss your options and if you are suitable. With any injectable treatment, it is not recommended if you are suffering from a skin infection near the treatment area, previous allergic reactions, bleeding disorders, uncontrolled autoimmune or other medical conditions, recent or upcoming dental work, pregnant/breastfeeding/undergoing IVF.

What aftercare do you offer?

I offer a free two-week review appointment and aftercare

What happens if I experience side effects?

Please contact me if you experience any side effects. In an emergency, such as a vascular occlusion, being treated is free (if originally treated by me), including any medications/prescriptions needed.
